The following luxury outdoor living area earned an NJNLA Landscape Award and features an impressive natural waterfall. The patios feature Tennessee Crab Orchard, bluestone, a fire pit, and steps leading up to the raised spa located behind the swimming pool. The custom swimming pool itself features the natural waterfall, a sun shelf for relaxing on a beach chair in shallow water, and a wrap around water slide. The outdoor kitchen is fully stocked with everything you could possibly need to entertain a large party. Next to the outdoor kitchen you can find an outdoor living room with a custom outdoor fireplace. The outdoor living room’s unique design separates itself from the rest of the patio by incorporating sand stone tile patterns rather than bluestone. The outdoor fireplace adjacent to the dining patio contrasts beautifully with the fire pit that lies within the mountainous lake paradise created by the landscape and inground pool.

Natural Infiniti Edge

Location: Saddle River NJ

Description: The Saddle River property is one of our most notable award winning pools, earning the Best In Competition Award from the North East Spa and Pool Association, a Silver Medal from the Association of Pool and Spa Professionals in their International Awards of Excellence competition, and more. The waterfall design itself is unique in that all the angular stones were placed vertically rather than on their side, mimicking the natural stone outcroppings of the Palisades overlooking the Hudson River. The pool design features one waterfall flowing in and the other flowing out over the infinity edge. The outdoor kitchen features a koi pond/stream directly behind it so, when you are cooking, you can enjoy the sights and sounds of nature just a few feet away. The pool falls off the natural vanishing edge into a large collection basin that recirculates the water. When sitting in the pool or spa it looks like the water falls off into space creating a nice effect. The natural vanishing edge is also designed to fall next to the dining patio to create a perfect backdrop for a social gathering.

Description: With an Association of Pool and Spa Professionals International Award of Excellence and a design award from the North East Spa and Pool Association, this outdoor luxury entertaining space has proved to be quite a feat for our NJ landscape architect. The 22-ton boulder installation was featured in a local newspaper because of the immense equipment that was needed to install it. When the night lighting shines like the pool’s sun mosaic design, the custom swimming pool becomes a tropical oasis that you can enjoy throughout the entire evening while serving your friends at the cabana/bar and cooking on the custom grill. If you want a cozier, more personal setting you can all enjoy some time sitting around the fireplace or fire-pit. The outdoor fireplace is fit with a larger than life clock tower overhead, and the fire pit is set back alongside the spa and boulder waterfall for a more rugged retreat. The immense planting gave the yard a very secluded feel even though the neighbors were just a stone’s- throw away.

Well, towns only let us build them so high, but this 8-foot waterfall should satisfy the owners of this back yard in Mahwah, New Jersey. Not only can they enjoy their waterfall from the raised entertainment patio next to the house, but there is also an elevated spa located to the side of the waterfall. While their children are swimming in the pool, they can keep an eye on them from the peace and privacy of the raised spa. The plantings feature rich colors, and a Swim Jet was installed so you can swim laps in the back yard without a typical lap pool. The pool, spa, waterfall, and landscape design define “resourcefulness” with fitness, supervision, and fun.

Vacation in Your Back Yard

Location: Cresskill NJ

Description: This property features lush vegetation, a large natural boulder waterfall with a spa built into the side of it, and a natural stone patio that surrounds the custom swimming pool. You would never know you were in New Jersey once you set foot in this luxury landscape. One entire side of the swimming pool is right up against the natural boulder waterfall. This gives the swimming pool design a supremely natural feeling, as if you were right in the heart of Mother Nature.

Color your Landscape

Location: Mahwah NJ

Elements: Patio, grill, natural stone patio, fire pit and planting.

Description: Matching colors in your landscape is the same idea as making sure you’re not wearing two different colored socks in the morning. We pulled this design together using red brick throughout the project. From the custom grill to the unique fire pit, no detail went unnoticed. The patio features brick inlay accents around the natural stone. The plantings throughout the property feature red to blend the colors of the brick with the surrounding landscape. This backyard was created specifically with the idea of having summer dinners and afternoon barbecues for family and friends.

Custom Stone Entertainment

Location: Alpine NJ

Elements: Custom grill, multi-leveled patio and planting.

Description: Entertain your guests on this elegant patio and entertaining area. The chic stonework on the patio and grill create a stunning platform for your landscape to perform. Guests will be torn between gazing upon the stylish plantings and peering down at the smooth craftsmanship at their feet. Either way, this patio, custom grill, and landscape design make for a prime outdoor entertainment area.

The Whole Package

Elements: Extensive mature planting and gardening, advanced irrigation system, stone patio, oversized natural stone wall, spa and custom driveway.

Description: What else is there to say? This extensive landscape boasts elegant stonework, unique plantings and an intricately laid paver driveway. The landscape design includes a wide range of plantings that help showcase this project as the complete, estate landscaping package.

Elegant Back Yard

Location: Cresskill NJ

Description: The formal design offers great, traditional color and style. The pathways feature clean plantings that allow the landscape to beautifully wrap around the sandstone patio with bluestone accents. The formal swimming pool, patio, and colorful landscape finish the project with a uniform elegance.

"Sea" the Difference

Location: Seagirt NJ

Elements: Swimming pool renovation, natural stone veneer, custom grill and colorful plantings.

Description: This shore house proves to be a nice retreat from the beach when the "bennys" are in town. Relax around your swimming pool and get a tan while the family cooks on the custom grill built to serve many. Originally the front yard to this home was uninviting; it was covered by shrubs that had not been maintained and stucco that was falling apart from the salty air. Natural stone veneer was the answer to the corroding salt. By cutting back the shrubs and adding layered plantings to the landscape, the newly inviting entryway maintained its depth but became much more open and appealing. The only thing missing in this back yard is the boardwalk.

Description: The landscape features old world masonry with intricate attention to detail. This project was challenged by a tough property; the home in Mahwah NJ was built on a large hill with need for large retaining walls. Cipriano implemented large boulders to create a very natural feel. The backyard features a classic, natural style boasting a custom pergola, fountain and lush plantings. The outdoor fireplace and custom grill with counter space was built for visitors to relax and enjoy while you cook for them. From the design that draws your eye toward the social area for a nice dinner to the beautiful nautical star natural stone inlay, this back yard showcases some of our most well-designed, unique masonry work.
